It's not practical to host your server on your own computer because: unless you have a lot of ram, you won't be able to do much other things while hosting it.

Also, if you download something while ur server is hosted on your computer, it can lag the server.

 

There is affordable servers out there, I have 1 slot left for my hosting service so if you want I can arrange something for you.
