About the team:

Project PK is built by a team who love and grew up with the game. The main reason why we built Project PK is because we understand that this is an old game, and a lot of us don’t really have the time to grind the game like we all used to. On top of that, not a lot of us have the means to pay out of our own pocket to get the best items in game. Thus, we have designed Project PK specifically for us old people, who has no time, no money, also lazy, but still enjoy the game! We are a new team and we are learning as we go along but we hope the journey will be worth it!

Awesomee looking to play a pk server might join : ) nice if server succes u may if u want could add item mall custom appareals for example ,something that dont give advantage to people, and want to support the server ... Cheers

Item malls mainly sells quality of life perks (like buff notes, expert poss), cosmetics (we currently have released for clothes, weapon and fairy apparel. We will release rear fairy apparels, wings, flows and titles soon), and also some T2 and T3 pk supplies. 

Note that T2 and T3 pk supplies does give small advantages to people who have them but we are really looking at (ie. 2s stun on lv 1 fb vs 3s stun on lv 2 fb or 3s invi on lv 1 blessed pot vs 5s invi on lv 2 blessed), so we do not really consider them pay to win. Also, these premium supplies are obtainable in game.

I’ve brought exciting news! We will be opening Project PK this Saturday, 31 July 2021, at 9:00 am (GMT+1) to all.

The game client will be available for download and registration will be open in the upcoming few days!

It will be released on 31 July. I suggest you join our discord channel because we are posting a lot of guides, events information and server information there. Also there will be a PK event on launch so better start now to form your team and win the event!

Launch event 1: Server launch starter gift pack
For all players who will be participating the launch of Project PK, the GM team have prepared a welcoming gift to get players started pking in Project PK!

The welcome gift pack includes the following:

Launch event 2: The Guild Grand Prix
The event is pretty simple! Basically, the first team to create a guild in Project PK will be rewarded handsomely. Second and third placing guild will also be rewarded for their effort.

However, as easy as this may sound, this is no easy feat! Why? Because you need to prepare 10,000,000g in gold and completing the “Battle of Oath” quest for a Stone of Oath. If you are not already aware, the quest requires players to kill two bosses in Spring Island as well as turning in their loots. See #guides section for more information on the quest. To spice things up, Spring Island is a PK area! No free farm ladies! So, what are you waiting for? Start inviting your friends and form your team now! Please see following for detailed information of this event:

Event start: Time of launch
Duration: 48 hours from time of launch

Rewards*:
First place: 2 x Premium battlepass 5,000,000g gold 20 x Supply tokens (N) 5 x Supply tokens (P)
Second place: 1 x Premium battlepass 3,000,000g gold 15 x Supply tokens (N)

Firstly, I have brought news... Our website development have been delayed and the team has been working on it since. That being said, Project PK's website will not be available on day of launch. HOWEVER! THIS WILL NOT STOP US FROM LAUNCHING PROJECT PK ON 31 JULY AS PROMISED! We have never missed our promises and hope that we will never have to!

Instructions on how to play Project PK and registration

 

1. Download the game client. Unzip the file after download. (Links to be provided)

 

2. Download the latest patch from our discord. Unzip the patch file into the client file after download. Ensure you click replace all. (This is only temporary until our website is up and running)

 

3. Click on the launcher "Project PK" to launch the game launcher.

 

4. You might get pop ups as shown below. Just click through them. Does not matter if you click yes or no.

 

5. You might also get the following error. This is because the website is not up yet. Just ignore it and click confirm.

 

6. Once all the pop ups and errors are cleared, click start game.

 

7. Once you are in the game, you can register your account. Just click on the register button and a registration box will pop up. Complete the registration box and your account will be registered.

 

8. You can now log into the game, create your character and enjoy the PK!

 

Note: If you have selected Argent or Shaitan as your starting city, you will be disconnected when attempting to log in with your character for the first time. Just log in again and there won't be the same issue. Or, just pick Icicle as your starting city.

First of all, good news and bad news!

Good news being that we are expecting some 40 - 50 players logging in on launch date so far! 54 responses on Google forms! I am pumped! Will we get to see some 20 v 20 in PK maps or will it turn out into a 3 way all out battle!?

Now, on to the bad news... I will need to hand out all these 50+ starter gift pack sobs... What a pain...

Is that "skill point guide" correct? If so, I think it's badly planned.
 

  • A soft cap limit of 69 points by leveling up. Really? Why 69? If a player only wanted to specialize in low amount of skills, they can't even maximize 7 skills, they'd be left at 6 full skills and 1 skill at level 9.
  • "Skill Crystal". So you're taking regular progression where a player can be on even terms  with others and putting it behind a RNG wall.
    • Your explanation: "This limitation is to allow players to put more thoughts into which skills should they increase their levels and which skills should they get. Thus, the skill build for each players will vary depending on their respective builds."
    • The skill crystal defeats that entire purpose.
  • Putting the crystal a chest with low rate and then putting that chest into maze bosses gives more power to dominating guilds/players and even they will have low chance of getting it.
  • Putting the crystal behind a quest that tasks players on boss kills will also just benefit dominating guilds/players.

Just a few of my thoughts.

The guide you have read is correct. Allow me to explain why this is done this way:

 

Inspiration:

The reason for 69 is simple. This basically caps the player's skill point at around level 70 in the very early version of TOP (2 sockets eq. era). If I remember correctly, during that time, end game players ranges around the level of 70 to 80, with very few that actually went past 80 to 90 (since the only leveling option are Hexalthon or Thundoria Mirage). During this time, skill points were limited and players will need to actually think of what skills they would like to put their point into. But based on this design, depending on the build a player is going after, it is still possible for all main skills to be maxed. However, this limits to what build the player is going for: Eg - a battle cleric/sm or a buffer support; a bow ss or a gun ss; a land voy or a seavoy etc. This greatly increases the possibility and customisation of classes in the server depending on player's build. 

 

I agree with your comment on that the skill crystal defeats the entire purpose of what was mentioned in the above. However, as you have pointed out, skill crystals are gated behind low chance RNG and boss drops. Based on our calculation, it would take a guild effort to get around 2 - 5 crystals for the whole guild in half a month's time on an average play time of 4 hours a day. This henceafter, makes it not an easy thing to do. The server is designed with team play in mind.

On your point where this will be benefiting to the dominating guild, I would like to agree and disagree on this:
1. We do not believe that having extra skill points will create a clear advantage to those who has more. Since with 69 SPs, essential skills are already being maxed and what's left are those that might not be as essential (ie. sword mastery and concentration - which gives little to no extra boost). Having higher SPs, which we believe provides more of a "quality of life" option. (Ie. easy switch between bow or gun ss etc)

2. If we look at the standard and common formula, some gems/eqs are also gated behind winning maps/bosses, so your argument also applies to this. However in PPKII, the best gems and equips are being given out from the first get go so that creates every players on equal footing in terms of gemming/eqs. On top of that, if we are to compare an advantage between having better gems/equips to having more skill points, I would say the former provides a clearer unfair advantage? Thus, we would like to think that having more skill points are "good to have but not necessary".

 

The design

You may or may not already been aware of from reading our descriptions and guides, we do not intend to make our players to grind long hours for "essential upgrades" in order to be on equal footing in pk maps. However, if there are no upgrades and progression, players will lack the motivation to play the game, as there are no "goals" to work towards to. Thereafter, we limited the skill points and provided a more difficult means to obtain them and thus, creating "progression". 

 

The design in summary:

  • Opens up a greater possibility of customisation and builds
  • Obtaining extra skill points gives a sense of "progression"
  • Having extra skill points does not give clear unfair advantage
  • Having extra skill points provides more of a quality of life option

Based on my comments above, I would disagree to your point where you have mentioned that this is poorly planned out.

[Updates] Current Change Log from Project PK I to Project PK II

• Removed DS and replaced with DW
• DW bosses are Tidal and Aruthur instead of Mud and Phoenix
• Killing players in pk maps now awards killers with 10k gold
• Chaos Thundoria replaced by Chaos Spring
• Chaos Shaitan now made smaller and only limited to within Shaitan City itself.
• Chests added into Chaos Map. Spawn time is 10 minutes interval. Chests gives N and P tokens
• Mazes mobs no longer drop fairy coins and elven signets
• Mazes mobs now drop golden nugget which can be sold for 7.5k each
• BD mobs in chaos maps no longer drop fairy coins and elven signets
• BD mobs in chaos maps now drop N and P token with low chance
• Fairy coins and signets are now obtainable via normal way. Use low level pet for highest rates.
• Weapon apparel box now need only 8 signets to open instead of 20 signets
• Boss in world boss map replaced with an easier boss variant with same drops
• Added realm boss map that opens once every week at west of map. Requires 2 asura to enter.
• Previous world boss now included within realm boss map that gives 100% drop
• Reduced price of Asura’s fruit from 1m to 700k.
• Increased price of revival clover from 100k to 250k
• Normal amps now obtainable with 1 N token instead of 1 P token
• Hi amps now obtainable with 1 P token instead of 2 P token
• Removed field boss for guild quest from Spring Island and moved to Canary Isle (PK map).
• Portal to Canary Isle added near dock of Spring Island
• Portal added north of Spring for easier access to World Boss Map

Hi everyone, today is 2nd day of BETA! We have received some really good response from our beta players! All known issues and bugs have now been fixed. The team and I would like to express our utmost gratitude to our beta players! You know who you are and I'll make sure you are duly compensated!

Now that we are happy with the server, I would to announce that the server will be having its official launch this coming Saturday, 21 August, at 9am (GMT+1). This time around, we will do things right! We will announce when registration for official launch will be opened in the next few days. Any accounts registered now will be wiped on launch date.

In conjunction with the launch, we will be hosting a PK event on launch date and also on the following weekend after launch. We will be giving out 100 euros worth of prize! (Note: Prize are not in game items so its something you can use it RL!) Details to follow!

Now, returning to what I've promised 2 weeks ago, players who joined PPKI will be compensated. And to that, all such players will be receiving 10 IMP crystals to be spent in our NPC mall. Further details on how to claim this to follow.

Beta Over!

Hi everyone,
I am delighted to say... our beta has ended on a good note! We have found some issues/bugs but we have also subsequently fixed them! Good thing... nothing major or game breaking!

Please see following for change logs since our beta:

• Fixed IP restrict in maps. Now working 100%

• Enabled medal of honor PK (but if enemy is in same guild, will not show sword icon but can pk with pressing ctrl - will look into but not crucial)

• Fixed glows on weps

• Fixed some manu items not working properly

• Included kylin app for carsise that will trigger blood bull effect

• Buffed healing spring skill to heal 1.3k hp instead of 200 hp at max level

• Fixed and removed kylin effect from kylin set

• Reduced amount of china clay available for N tokens from 8 to 3

• Fixed guild warehouse where it was not working properly

• Fixed guild house relog issue

• Capped crus aspd in line with PPK v1

• Removed max bow app which was bugged from app box

• Removed beta npc

• Removed gem of soul and azz light to be able to forged into glove (this was not intended)

• Updated mall NPC exchanges


As we end beta, players will now no longer be able to log into the game. Patches will be rolled out over the next few days and will be automatically patched as you launch the game through our launcher when we open for official launch this Saturday. All beta accounts will be wiped shortly and registration for official launch will be opened after. We will keep y'all updated!

I would also like to thank all who had helped to test the server during our beta in the past few days. You know who you are ! ❤️

PROJECT PK II MEGA LAUNCH EVENT

Event 1: Project PK I Compensation

All players who have joined us during Project PK I will be compensated with 10 IMP Crystals (worth $15) of which can be spent with the IMP Exchanger NPC for some premium goodies! In order to receive your compensation, please link in with [GM] Myruni, [GM] Uperez or [GM] Banana in game.

 

Rules:

• Compensation can only be redeemed from 23 August (9am GMT+1) to 27 August (9pm GMT+1).

• Must have participated in Project PK I

Event 2: Starter Pack

Starter Pack will be for sale for 5 credits from the award center on our website. Players will need to vote in order to receive the 5 credits. The pack will only be available until 23 August, 9pm (GMT+1).

 

The starter packs provides the players with the following:

• 2 x Asura’s Demonic Fruit

• 20 x Auto rations

• 200,000g

Event 3: The Dream Team PK

Players in team of 3 will battle it out in arena and the players in the last winning team will fight against each other in 1v1 arena matches to decide on the final victor.

How to register: Team leader to provide team name to any GM in game during registration period.

1v1 – Crusaders are not allowed to use stealth and Champions are not allowed to use 2h sword

Event 4: Fury of Hardin

Hardin will be summoned in Canary Isle. The guild that kills Hardin (decided by the player who looted the drop) will win the event.

 

Event start time: 22 August, 3pm (GMT+1)

 

Rewards:

Winning guild: 1 x 3 months YouTube Premium, 25 x IMP Crystal

All legit participating guild: 15 x IMP Crystal

 

How to split the YouTube premium reward:

Guild members can either decide who to give the reward to or the GM team can help to pick randomly via random picker software.
