  1. Yeah it was IGG who changed to the mobile sector. IGG didn't get hacked, their employees just took advantage with the power they had. A few GM's & members of the support team etc... Everything gets leaked somehow, take musicians for example. I can't remember what artist it was, but they had 1 copy of their new album that was transported securely in a van to its destination and wasn't online anywhere yet somehow it still got leaked before the launch date haha! I'm guessing the price to renew the license went up by a lot more than their old contract when they saw the amount of money they were making from it, and that could have been a factor in why they never renewed it aside from diving into the mobile sector instead.

    IGG TOP1

Also, they'd have to use TOP2 as a base if they were to make a TOP3. Who on earth would invest time into revamping that code and building upon it. That would be a waste of money and time in a businesses point of view.
  3. I understand what you mean, but you're still wrong. If anything, it is down to the way the "community" functioned. Basically people will make something, brag about it and then sell it off for a lot of money while people wanted to know how they did it. But instead it became a, "look at me, I'm better than you" and a "you want me to release this for free so you can learn from what I did? lol no".
  4. 1. It didn't die, it just changed. Focusing more on mobile games, where the industry is growing. 2. No, I believe technically you still need to buy the rights/ license. 3. Leaks, always. 4. It was a new game, it was managed & marketed well enough with decent resources at hand. 5. *lol* do we even need to answer that question? 6. It will/ is becoming a retro game now really. Only the really hard core fans will be playing/ developing it further. 7. How bad it all was. Ask any TOP fan and they'll say they preferred TOP to TOP 2. Crappy items/ gems and other crap. Just a lot of crap really. 8. Keep it simple, but different. No one wants to play the same server over and over again. Decent uptime too, no one wants to play a server that is on for a week to make some quick $$$. 9. Someone, somewhere will have access to it. You might get lucky, but if you can't find it by now it's not likely you'll find it. 10. Their license ran out, and IGG as a company made a decision to not renew it I believe. I could be wrong, but from what I take from it is, they had a license/ contract til a certain date. After that it's down to both parties to agree to extend. If one doesn't agree, they can't keep it running.
  5. @Vasil It's a dead game, not because of releases with backdoors or people selling stuff that isn't theirs. People get bored, TOP is old, they find something new to try. Sure, there is still a community for the game, but nothing like there used to be. But it's not due to backdoors in scripts or vulnerabilities, if you don't read scripts you copy that's your own fault, don't blame it on the community or why the game is dead. You're just making yourself sound like an idiot, and I mean that in the nicest way possible.
  6. Haha yes, I get what you mean! Haven't really looked into Go get myself, might look at it. You should definitely do that, with the community helping to contribute to the github repo too maybe? I'm sure some people would want to help?
  7. @nyarum Looks awesome dude, are you working on this again? Also, what made you choose Go as the programming language? Will definitely look into this emulator, good work!
  8. Any chance you can post this in the English section too? Very interesting, good job! Will take a look at what you've got so far. Thank you!
  9. Every time they load of the launcher they are forced to vote? Personally I think it would be better for your players if they weren't forced to vote... Why not just give them the option while it's loading, or on the launcher. Forcing someone to vote isn't going to work lmao

Since no one else has contributed yet, I will @Perseus I love the idea of having it all open-source and allowing people to help build the application! More people should contribute, yes I'm speaking to you... the person reading this reply right now. If you don't know how to help/ contribute on the project but want to, let us know here.

And did you make sure you're in the correct directory before running the command as Perseus said?
  12. @kLabMousewe are off-topic, but technically we have been for a while. All interesting and why I made the thread in the first place! Also yeah I've looked at the GameServer, it's about the same level of mess I think. Noticed a lot of redundant code lying about throughout the projects though!
